Some Things I Love

I love the smell of Murphy's Oil Soap. Seriously. SO DELICIOUS. And it's not the pregnancy talking.... I've loved it since I was a child. It may have something to do with loving how beautiful it makes wood look and how it gets all the yucky grime off stuff.... but, it may just be the yummy yummy smell.

In conjunction with that, I love Lemon Oil furniture polish. I cleaned my kitchen cabinets last week and the smells filling my kitchen were heavenly.

Speaking of Heavenly Smells in the kitchen... made these Monkey Muffins last week for youth night at our house. Oh My Goodness. They are SO good. And super easy... my sister helped me and we both loved the simplicity of the recipe. We used canned biscuit dough and they were still delish.

Which brings me to my next thing I am currently loving... The Pioneer Woman. I kinda stumbled upon her blog and think she is just a hoot and half. She has great recipe ideas, she's open and honest (which I love) and she talks about things like hotel bathrooms and beautiful babies. What's not to love?

And speaking of beautiful babies... my 16-month old just woke up in the middle of his nap. I went in and laid (lied, lay, lie - I have no idea.) down beside him and coaxed him back to sleep. He looked all cute and sleepy and adorable... when he was back to slumbering I couldn't resist just one tiny little mommy kiss.... which of course made him wake up. He gave me this "Woman, what are you doing? I am trying to SLEEP here" look and closed his eyes again. Hee hee hee. Yes, I had to do a little more coaxing, but it was totally worth it. Completely.

I imagine I'll be seeing that look a lot when he's a teenager.

Why a New Blog?

I like to write.... occasionally the creative urge just sweeps over me and I just wanna share it with the unknown world. I talk to myself a lot in my head.... telling stories, describing random occurrences, attempting to put words to a feeling. And by the time that comes out on "paper" and into the electronic void it may be complete drivel, but here it is, for what it's worth.

Why "A Beautiful Pea Green Boat"? Because I love "The Owl and the Pussycat". That's all. Although... perhaps I should have gone with Runcible Spoon, but that sounds like a recipe blog.

I think I've tried to be too specific in my blog writing. My husband likes specificity. He has a whole blog devoted to haiku book reviews. I like randomness and rambling.... he also hates rambling and thinks one should be as concise as possible. Not in a P.G. Wodehouse or modern internet/texting slang way.... "today I ate with Aunt A. and had two pickled h., four e. and bac." or "ur kidding! lol, 2 crzy." He just likes to use as few words as possible.

All that to say, I can't commit to one subject for a blog. I have too many interests. (yes, yes, Mr. Darcy, I'm backhandedly paying myself a compliment.) A thing that strikes me as incredibly interesting today will be forgotten tomorrow and a new thing will take it's place. Soooo... if you're making your way here from my other blog, thanks for checking it out, maybe you'll be interested too. I'll still be updating that blog as saving money will always be interesting. lol. j/k. no srsly.
